Responsibilities
- Analyze complex risk profiles and make informed underwriting decisions to maximize profitability.
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines for commercial lines, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Mentor and train junior underwriters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies effectively.
- Collaborate closely with claims, actuarial, and broker teams to resolve complex issues.
- Present underwriting proposals to the Executive Committee and negotiate terms with key brokers.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial insurance underwriting, preferably within the Lloyd's market.
- Professional qualification such as ACII or CII (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and assess risk exposure accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis.
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements within the insurance sector.
