Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications using data-driven risk assessment methodologies
- Develop and implement underwriting policies aligned with regulatory requirements and market trends
- Collaborate with brokers to structure competitive insurance solutions for high-value clients
- Lead cross-functional projects to optimize underwriting workflows and technology integration
- Mentor junior underwriters and conduct peer reviews for quality assurance
- Prepare detailed risk reports and executive dashboards for portfolio performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field (CPCU designation preferred)
- 7+ years of commercial underwriting experience with property/casualty expertise
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek) and data analytics tools
- Proven track record of developing underwriting strategies for complex risks
- Strong negotiation skills with ability to broker win-win solutions with brokers
- Valid state insurance license (IL license required)
