Responsibilities
- Analyze complex risk profiles to determine appropriate cover and pricing structures.
- Review and underwrite new and renewal business submissions to ensure profitability and compliance with company guidelines.
- Maintain deep knowledge of market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity.
- Mentor junior underwriters and provide technical guidance to the broader sales team.
- Develop and nurture relationships with brokers and clients to drive business growth.
- Ensure all underwriting decisions adhere to strict internal risk appetite and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting.
- Professional qualification (CII Diploma or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and assess financial risk.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in underwriting systems (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
