Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial and personal insurance applications using advanced risk assessment methodologies
- Develop and maintain profitable underwriting strategies for property/casualty lines
- Collaborate with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders to structure optimal coverage solutions
- Analyze market trends and regulatory changes to inform underwriting decisions
- Maintain accurate risk portfolios and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&C specialization
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or AU) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and risk sensitivity
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Proven track record of achieving underwriting profitability targets
