Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for commercial property/casualty policies using actuarial models and predictive analytics
- Develop and refine underwriting guidelines based on emerging market trends and regulatory changes
- Analyze large datasets to identify risk patterns and recommend pricing adjustments
- Collaborate with claims department to investigate complex loss scenarios and improve risk mitigation strategies
- Present risk reports and recommendations to senior leadership and underwriting committees
- Maintain compliance with state/federal insurance regulations and industry best practices
- Mentor junior analysts while implementing innovative risk assessment methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of commercial insurance underwriting or risk analysis experience
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, R, or Python for data manipulation and modeling
- CAS or CPCU designation strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of insurance regulations (NAIC, state-specific)
- Proven track record in developing risk pricing models
- Excellent presentation skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Experience with insurance software platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
