Responsibilities
- Lead Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from concept ideation and formulation to scale-up and commercial launch.
- Sensory Evaluation: Design and conduct rigorous sensory panels to analyze flavor profiles, mouthfeel, and overall consumer acceptance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all new products comply with FDA, USDA, and local food safety regulations (HACCP, FSMA).
- Lab Management: Manage the R&D laboratory, ensuring equipment maintenance, safety protocols, and inventory control of raw materials.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams including supply chain, packaging, and marketing to ensure market readiness.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze ingredient sourcing and manufacturing processes to optimize production costs without sacrificing quality.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in product development within the food and beverage industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in food processing equipment, rheology, and ingredient functionality.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of HACCP, GMP, and current food safety regulations.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data and troubleshoot formulation issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
