Apex Global Finance is a leading provider of business solutions, dedicated to driving growth for our clients through strategic financial management. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in the heart of London.
As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, ensuring full compliance with UK GAAP and HMRC regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to take ownership of core accounting processes and contribute to high-level financial strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met with precision.
- Prepare and review trial balances, balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements.
- Manage and reconcile bank statements and intercompany accounts on a monthly basis.
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and annual statutory accounts.
- Conduct variance analysis and prepare detailed reports for the Finance Director.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or AAT).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a UK-based accounting role.
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 50cloud or Xero accounting software.
- Deep understanding of UK tax laws, including Corporation Tax and PAYE.
- Excellent Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience with ERP systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
