Lumina Financial Partners is seeking a high-caliber Senior Financial Accountant to join our elite finance team in the heart of Chicago. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial data, driving the month-end close process, and providing strategic insights that influence executive decision-making. Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis to maintain GAAP compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline accounting workflows and implement robust internal controls.
- Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and management of corporate credit facilities.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure all documentation meets regulatory standards.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and KPIs to the CFO to support long-term strategic planning.
- Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and private industry.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle) and expert-level Microsoft Excel skills.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and experience implementing new accounting standards (ASC 606/842).
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
