Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity policies aligned with NIST and FISMA standards.
- Lead inter-agency risk assessment initiatives to identify vulnerabilities in public infrastructure.
- Draft high-level technical documentation for legislative review and executive leadership briefing.
- Coordinate with IT operations teams to ensure regulatory compliance across all departmental platforms.
- Conduct threat modeling and impact analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide expert guidance on cloud security governance and data privacy frameworks.
- Represent the department in national security working groups and policy forums.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, policy development, or risk management.
- Deep understanding of federal cybersecurity regulations (NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, FedRAMP).
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are highly preferred.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects under strict federal oversight and deadlines.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.
