In this pivotal role, you will manage a complex portfolio of middle-market commercial risks, leveraging your analytical prowess to drive profitable growth. You will collaborate with elite brokers and cross-functional teams to deliver bespoke insurance solutions in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze complex commercial property and casualty risks to determine insurability and pricing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail brokerage partners to drive new business production.
- Monitor portfolio performance and implement corrective measures to ensure underwriting profitability.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and participate in peer review sessions to ensure high quality standards.
- Coordinate with claims, legal, and actuarial departments to align underwriting strategies with corporate objectives.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes affecting the commercial insurance landscape.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting (Property/General Liability/Umbrella).
- Professional designation such as CPCU, ARM, or AU strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in risk analysis, contract review, and insurance policy interpretation.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing a multi-million dollar book of business.
- Advanced analytical skills with mastery of Excel and underwriting software platforms.
