Responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze complex commercial property and casualty risks to determine insurability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and agency partners to drive new business.
- Manage a high-volume pipeline while maintaining strict adherence to underwriting guidelines and loss ratio targets.
- Collaborate with risk control and claims departments to refine underwriting strategies and risk appetite.
- Prepare comprehensive technical analysis and recommendations for management regarding high-exposure accounts.
- Participate in industry networking events and provide subject matter expertise to junior staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Commercial Lines underwriting (Middle Market or Large Account experience preferred).
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU are highly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial statements and loss runs.
- Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and industry-standard underwriting software.
- Proven track record of maintaining profitable underwriting books in the US market.
