Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance risks for new and renewal business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail brokerage partners.
- Apply expert underwriting judgment to ensure portfolio profitability and growth.
- Collaborate with claims and risk engineering departments to evaluate loss exposure.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and participate in internal training initiatives.
- Utilize advanced data analytics tools to identify market trends and risk patterns.
- Negotiate terms and conditions while maintaining strict compliance with state regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of commercial lines underwriting experience.
- Active CPCU or ARM designation is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in risk assessment software and underwriting management systems.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage a diverse, high-volume book of business.
- Deep understanding of property, casualty, and umbrella coverage forms.
