Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate complex commercial insurance risks to ensure underwriting profitability.
- Manage a high-value portfolio, ensuring adherence to corporate underwriting guidelines and authority limits.
- Collaborate with regional brokers to negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing strategies.
- Perform detailed financial analysis and market research to identify emerging risk trends.
- Mentor junior underwriters and assist in the development of streamlined underwriting workflows.
- Monitor loss ratios and implement corrective actions for underperforming accounts.
- Maintain compliance with all state regulatory requirements and internal audit standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial lines underwriting experience (Property & Casualty focus).
- Professional designation such as CPCU, ARM, or AU is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining effective broker partnerships.
- Advanced knowledge of policy forms, rating plans, and insurance regulations.
- Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in industry-standard underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
