Responsibilities
- Evaluate and price complex commercial property and casualty risks within established underwriting guidelines.
- Manage a diverse book of business, ensuring profitability and growth targets are met consistently.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, productive relationships with key regional brokerage partners.
- Conduct thorough audits of policy documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the actuarial and claims departments to refine risk assessment models and underwriting strategies.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and participate in peer review sessions to maintain quality standards.
- Analyze industry trends and market intelligence to identify new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial lines underwriting experience with a proven track record.
- Advanced knowledge of P&C insurance products, rating plans, and coverage forms.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU are highly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in industry-standard underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
