Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite complex commercial risks within established authority levels.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key brokers and agency partners.
- Monitor portfolio performance and implement corrective actions to ensure profitability.
- Conduct thorough audits of policy terms, conditions, and coverage forms to minimize exposure.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and contribute to departmental training initiatives.
- Participate in high-level strategy meetings to refine market appetite and product offerings.
- Ensure full compliance with internal underwriting guidelines and state regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Commercial Lines underwriting.
- Active CPCU, ARM, or equivalent professional insurance designation.
- Expert-level proficiency in risk assessment modeling and actuarial data interpretation.
- Proven track record of managing a high-volume, profitable book of business.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with executive-level stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard underwriting platforms.
