Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance risks for profitability and growth.
- Execute underwriting strategy in alignment with company risk appetite.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior underwriting staff.
- Monitor market trends to identify new business opportunities and threats.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and internal corporate policies.
- Manage end-to-end policy lifecycle from submission to renewal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Commercial Lines Underwriting.
- Proven track record of managing a profitable book of business.
- Advanced proficiency in risk analysis software and CRM tools.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Hartford-market regulatory requirements.
