Responsibilities
- Evaluate and price complex commercial property and casualty risks within established underwriting authority.
- Collaborate with regional brokers to negotiate terms and expand the existing profitable book of business.
- Conduct thorough risk analysis, including site inspections and detailed financial review.
- Monitor portfolio performance metrics and adjust underwriting strategies to meet loss ratio targets.
- Mentor junior underwriters and provide technical guidance on challenging account submissions.
- Ensure strict compliance with state regulatory requirements and internal underwriting guidelines.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to refine product offerings and risk modeling tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience with an emphasis on P&C.
- Active CPCU or ARM designation strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in utilizing predictive modeling and data analytics software.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and an established network of regional brokerage contacts.
- Demonstrated ability to make high-stakes decisions under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
