Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite complex commercial accounts within established underwriting authority.
- Develop and maintain strong, profitable relationships with retail and wholesale brokerage partners.
- Review policy forms, endorsements, and renewals to ensure coverage accuracy and risk alignment.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and participate in technical training initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Actuarial and Claims departments to refine risk assessment models.
- Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to adjust underwriting strategies effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Commercial Lines Underwriting.
- Deep knowledge of Property, General Liability, and Umbrella/Excess lines.
- Professional designation such as CPCU, ARM, or AU is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven track record of managing a multi-million dollar book of business.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard underwriting platforms.
