Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications and determine eligibility based on company underwriting guidelines.
- Manage a high-value portfolio of commercial accounts, ensuring profitability and portfolio integrity.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with independent brokers and agency partners to secure competitive business.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and site inspections to evaluate potential exposures.
- Mentor junior underwriters and provide technical guidance on complex policy endorsements.
- Maintain compliance with state insurance regulations and internal corporate governance standards.
- Develop and nurture long-term professional relationships with key distribution partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting (Property & Casualty).
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or AU are highly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven track record of managing a profitable book of business.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard underwriting software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for high-level negotiations.
