- Manage a high-value portfolio of accounts, focusing on account retention and profitable growth.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers to secure competitive and accurate placements.
- Collaborate with the actuarial team to refine pricing models for evolving market sectors.
- Conduct thorough audits of policy documentation to ensure strict regulatory and internal compliance.
- Mentor junior underwriters on best practices in risk assessment and market strategy.
- Drive innovation in underwriting workflows through the integration of data analytics tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of commercial property and casualty underwriting experience.
- Strong knowledge of ISO forms, state regulations, and local market trends.
- Proven track record of managing multi-million dollar portfolios with favorable loss ratios.
- Professional designation such as CPCU, ARM, or CIC is highly preferred.
- Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Excel.
