Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive care for patients recovering from complex cardiovascular surgical procedures.
- Monitor hemodynamic stability and interpret telemetry data in real-time.
- Administer vasoactive medications and manage advanced life support equipment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and therapists.
- Provide patient and family education on post-operative care and cardiac health maintenance.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of all procedures and patient vitals within the EMR system.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in CVICU or Cardiac Surgery units.
- Active BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and decisive in high-acuity medical emergencies.
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic preferred).
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
