Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
- Collaborate closely with interventional cardiologists and cardiac surgeons to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Interpret diagnostic tests including EKG, Holter monitors, stress tests, and echocardiogram results.
- Provide patient and family education regarding heart disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and departmental quality improvement projects.
- Coordinate transitions of care for patients post-procedure to ensure seamless recovery.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in interdisciplinary medical rounds.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
- Current, unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Massachusetts.
- Board certification as an ACNP or FNP with a focus on Cardiology.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a cardiac or critical care environment.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Strong proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, preferably Epic.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
