Role Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Senior Accountant to manage the end-to-end financial reporting lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, overseeing the month-end close, and mentoring junior staff members. Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare complex financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring all reconciliations are completed weekly.
- Conduct internal audits and variance analysis to identify financial risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain a robust system of internal controls and ensure compliance with tax regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Train and mentor junior accountants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or public accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Oracle NetSuite.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax compliance standards.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting financial data to stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
