Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled and reported.
- Compliance: Ensure the company remains compliant with federal, state, and local tax regulations and internal control policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization within the accounting department to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Audit Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accountants and staff, providing guidance on complex accounting issues and software usage.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or a related financial role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address discrepancies and improve financial processes.
