Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and quarterly financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Manage general ledger reconciliations and perform variance analysis to support senior management reporting.
- Prepare and review statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Assist in the annual audit process by providing necessary schedules and documentation to external auditors.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by analyzing historical data and providing actionable insights.
- Maintain internal control environments and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and tax laws.
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable operations and manage intercompany transactions.
Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in accounting, with a strong preference for candidates from the UK market.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage 50.
- Strong understanding of UK tax legislation, VAT, and corporate tax requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
