Responsibilities
- Oversee the full accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review complex financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, VAT returns, and company statutory accounts.
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on technical accounting issues.
- Perform variance analysis to assist management in budgeting and forecasting.
- Conduct internal audits and reconciliations for multiple ledgers.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification (fully qualified or finalist).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role within a UK-based firm or corporation.
- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
