Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and annual financial closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare complex financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management to support strategic planning.
- Oversee the audit process, liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to the development of team workflows.
- Manage general ledger reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax planning initiatives.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification is essential.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Senior Accountant or Financial Controller role.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Deep understanding of UK tax legislation and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance teams.
- Proven track record of managing audits and implementing process improvements.
