Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, triage, and physical examinations to formulate accurate nursing diagnoses.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and response to treatments, initiating emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on disease prevention, medication management, and post-discharge care plans.
  • Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care delivered accurately and promptly in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in compliance with infection control and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience working in an Emergency Department or high-acuity setting.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
