Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, triage, and physical examinations to formulate accurate nursing diagnoses.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and response to treatments, initiating emergency procedures when necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on disease prevention, medication management, and post-discharge care plans.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care delivered accurately and promptly in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in compliance with infection control and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience working in an Emergency Department or high-acuity setting.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
