Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, triaging patients based on acuity and urgency.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict adherence to hospital protocols and nursing standards.
- Monitor vital signs and continuously assess patient conditions to identify changes requiring immediate intervention.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement optimal care plans.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions, care provided, and outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all safety and regulatory compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Current and active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Emergency Department or critical care setting.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
