Responsibilities
- Assess Patient Health: Perform comprehensive physical exams and review medical histories to develop a baseline of patient health status.
- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and treatments with strict adherence to safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Vital Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and clinical indicators, responding immediately to any signs of deterioration or emergencies.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and the wider healthcare team to create and execute individualized care plans.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, medication management, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Clinical Documentation: Accurately and timely document all clinical findings, treatments administered, and patient responses.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are required.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with significant relevant experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of critical care or ICU experience preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse patient populations and medical staff.
- Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks necessary for patient care.
