Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and monitor patient progress to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Medication Administration: Safely and accurately administer medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols and legal standards.
- Collaborative Practice: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate seamless patient care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient status, interventions, and outcomes.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to medical emergencies and critical situations, demonstrating high-level critical thinking and clinical judgment.
- Patient Advocacy: Act as an advocate for patients and families, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met with dignity and respect.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid RN license to practice in New York State.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required; CEN or CCRN preferred.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse patient populations and families.
- Soft Skills: Strong empathy, stress tolerance, and a commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.
