Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU setting
- Administer medications and treatments with precision, including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in Epic EHR systems
- Mentor junior nurses and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Respond effectively to emergency situations using ACLS protocols
- Advocate for patients and families during complex care transitions
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois RN license (or compact license with ability to obtain IL license)
- BSN degree required (MSN preferred)
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience with demonstrated proficiency in critical care
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- Expertise in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and rapid response protocols
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills with ability to de-escalate high-stress situations
- Commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education
