Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage critically ill patients using advanced hemodynamic monitoring systems
- Administer complex medications and perform specialized procedures (arterial lines, ventilator management)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on critical care protocols and discharge planning
- Participate in rapid response codes and emergency interventions
- Maintain accurate electronic health records with precise documentation
- Mentor new nurses and contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Illinois RN license (or compact state eligibility)
- BSN degree (MSN preferred for senior roles)
- Minimum 2 years ICU/CCU experience
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic EMR and ICU monitoring systems
- Demonstrated expertise in ventilator management and critical pharmacology
- Exceptional communication and crisis intervention skills
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning
