Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a specialized cardiology setting, including pre/post-op monitoring and emergency response
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders with precision and documentation accuracy
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health, medications, and discharge protocols
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and hospital safety protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with cardiac nursing best practices
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York State (NYSED)
- BSN degree from accredited program (ADN candidates with 5+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 2 years acute care cardiology experience
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills
- Exceptional communication and patient advocacy abilities
- Proficiency in Epic EHR system
