Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic design and execution of novel gene-editing R&D pipelines targeting rare genetic disorders.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional computational biology, bioinformatics, and pharmacology teams to accelerate platform discovery.
- Translate early-stage, proof-of-concept biological assays into scalable and robust therapeutic delivery candidates.
- Author and review high-impact scientific publications, intellectual property/patent filings, and regulatory IND documentation.
- Mentor and guide a talented team of junior R&D scientists, research associates, and laboratory technicians.
- Evaluate emerging global technologies, platforms, and external research partnerships to maintain the company’s competitive scientific edge.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or a highly related life sciences discipline.
- Minimum of 5+ years of post-PhD industry experience within a biotech, pharmaceutical, or advanced research institution.
- Proven track record of developing cell-based assays, gene therapy vectors, or cellular therapeutics.
- Deep hands-on expertise with advanced CRISPR systems, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and molecular cloning methodologies.
- Strong analytical and quantitative mindset, with familiarity in statistical tools or computational languages (e.g., Python or R).
- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities, evidenced by a strong portfolio of peer-reviewed publications.
