Responsibilities
- Develop and implement end-to-end merchandising and buying strategies for assigned product categories.
- Create accurate seasonal buying plans based on historical data, market trends, and financial targets.
- Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and sell-through rates to make data-backed adjustments.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize stock availability and minimize out-of-stock or overstock scenarios.
- Partner with the marketing team to align product launches with promotional campaigns and visual merchandising standards.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and volume commitments with vendors and suppliers to maximize profitability.
- Conduct regular competitive analysis to identify new growth opportunities and maintain market leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in merchandising, buying, or category management, preferably within the retail sector.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and retail management software.
- Proven ability to translate market data into successful product assortment strategies.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a track record of building strong vendor relationships.
- Deep understanding of retail math, OTB (Open-to-Buy) management, and inventory planning.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and results-oriented environment.
