Responsibilities
- Perform complex adult cardiac surgeries including CABG, valve repairs, and aortic procedures.
- Provide clinical oversight and mentorship to residents, fellows, and junior surgeons.
- Lead multidisciplinary heart team meetings to determine optimal patient care plans.
- Participate in high-impact clinical research and data-driven quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage departmental resources to ensure operational efficiency and standard-setting patient safety.
- Act as a clinical liaison for hospital administration and cardiovascular stakeholders.
- Stay at the forefront of surgical innovation, including robotic-assisted and minimally invasive techniques.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 10 years of post-residency experience in a high-volume cardiac center.
- Active, unrestricted Massachusetts medical license.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a major hospital or academic health system.
- Proven track record of high surgical success rates and peer-reviewed research publications.
- Advanced fellowship training in a sub-specialty such as Aortic Surgery or Heart Failure.
