Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms on adult patients.
- Provide preliminary diagnostic summaries for attending cardiologists.
- Mentor and oversee a team of junior sonographers to maintain departmental imaging standards.
- Ensure optimal operation and calibration of high-frequency diagnostic imaging equipment.
- Maintain comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) with strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical teams to support surgical planning and treatment protocols.
- Develop and implement departmental protocols to optimize patient flow and imaging accuracy.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Sonography program.
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) certification through ARDMS required.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Proven leadership experience in managing diagnostic imaging staff.
- Advanced proficiency in 3D/4D echocardiography techniques.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail in high-pressure medical environments.
