Responsibilities
- Perform rapid, accurate physical and psychological assessments of patients presenting to the emergency department.
- Initiate immediate, life-saving nursing interventions in accordance with established critical care and trauma protocols.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and blood products safely and accurately under high-pressure scenarios.
- Collaborate dynamically with emergency physicians, trauma specialists, and allied health professionals to coordinate optimal, multidisciplinary patient care.
- Educate patients and their support networks regarding acute diagnoses, customized treatment plans, and post-discharge care protocols.
- Maintain precise, real-time electronic health records (EHR) adhering strictly to hospital compliance, HIPAA, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Massachusetts (or compact equivalent).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years accepted.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in an active Emergency Department or high-acuity Critical Care/ICU unit.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required upon hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications preferred, or obtained within 6 months.
- Exemplary critical thinking, decisive judgment, and emotional resilience in high-stress clinical conditions.
