Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic for security threats using SIEM platforms
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal systems
- Develop incident response plans and lead breach mitigation efforts
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and DHS cybersecurity frameworks
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and patches
- Document security incidents and prepare executive-level reports
- Train federal employees on cybersecurity best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in enterprise security operations
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Understanding of federal security regulations and compliance standards
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred
