Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity incidents across federal networks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of government systems
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with federal security standards (NIST, FISMA)
- Analyze security logs and data to identify trends and emerging threats
- Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend remediation actions
- Stay current on cybersecurity threats and technologies through continuous learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles
- CISSP, Security+, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and security tools
- Familiarity with federal security frameworks (NIST SP 800-53, FISMA)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize complex security issues
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
