Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security incidents using SIEM tools to detect and mitigate threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal systems
- Develop and implement incident response plans for cybersecurity breaches
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams on threat intelligence sharing
- Ensure compliance with NIST FISMA and federal security standards
- Train government personnel on cybersecurity best practices
- Document security procedures and maintain compliance documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Strong understanding of network protocols and system architectures
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Excellent communication skills for technical/non-technical audiences
