Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis and optimization of clinical workflows within the EHR environment to enhance efficiency and patient safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement clinical documentation improvement strategies.
- Perform comprehensive data analysis to identify trends, measure quality metrics, and support value-based care initiatives.
- Act as the primary liaison between clinical staff and the IT department to troubleshoot system issues and gather requirements.
- Conduct user training and change management sessions to ensure successful adoption of new health information technologies.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare standards during system implementation and updates.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize clinical performance data for leadership.
Qualifications
- Active RN, LPN, or MD/DO license is preferred; a Master’s degree in Health Informatics or Nursing is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or Allscripts) and strong knowledge of HL7 and FHIR standards.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex clinical data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and influence non-technical clinical staff.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) preferred.
